I am 47, I do have hypothyroidism, which I am on Thyroid medication for and I just had my blood work done, and according to that, I am on the right dose. I had a lot of hair loss before I was diagnosed, and then it got a lot better. It seems like every time I wash or brush my hair, I am losing more than I should be. I have never had my hair this long before. (mid-to lowerback) So I'm just wondering if it is a seasonal thing, a hormonal thing because I am perimenopausal and I know my hormones are all screwed up, or is this normal? I almost feel like I'm on Chemotherepy sometimes when I wash my hair, because it comes out in handfulls, probably guessing 50 or so strands at a time. I do have very fine somewhat wavy hair. Don't know if that has anything to do with it or not. I have found that Aussie products work best for me, and it's in my price range.

i have a huge short curly afro. everybody stares at it. i have biracial hair. i just don't have it long because i just shaved my head bald from my perm 2 years ago. if i were to perm/press my hair it would hurt.
sting my scalp, make it dry, and make my hair fall out.
are a means to straigten my black/biracial hair. if i was a man i guess it would be different because its a short afro.
i can grow it long, it used to be.
its just annoying.
stare mean, or like who do you think you are, or stare then when i look at them, they look away. to the floor.
cowards. anyone else dealing with this issue too.
people stare the worst, black people with natural hair look at me with smiles, but blacks with perms/afros look at me like i'm insane. lol.
at least i released myself from the chemical hell. it would cost 500+ bucks per year to get it done.
else dealing with these mean stares? some people even try to ignore me.
because i'm not the norm! oh yeah those are my avatar pics. i took them a few weeks ago.
